I'm am happy to agree with the many voices proclaiming that the Church needs to get into social media in a bigger way. At the same time, though, I hope this graphic (produced by Alix McAlpine at the Jess3 Blog) will help people to see that far more voices need to be raising the call for the Church to start getting into mobile (don't forget, 1/3 to 1/2 of Facebook and other social media site users are accessing via mobile devices)!

Mobile videos should be kept to five minutes or less. This is due to:
a) Viewers’ limited attention span
i. Because of the viewer’s “mobile” context (moving, interruptions, other tasks, etc.)
ii. Because of the extra concentration required in viewing materials on a small video screen
b) The need to keep file sizes small for Bluetooth phone-to-phone transfer or expensive (in the emerging world) over the air download ( < 5MB recommended)

This last weekend the Mobilism Conference, "the first conference that focuses exclusively on web design and development for mobile devices", took place in Amsterdam. From everything I've seen the speakers were absolutely top notch and their presentations phenomenal. The conference fee was approximately $800 and travel and lodging would have run at least another $1600 so my personal attendance was never even considered.
The wonderful thing is that all that money was well saved as most of the talks are now posted at Slideshare and the like and the wonderful LukeW has posted his EXTENSIVE notes from each presentation at his site. I've included the two listed together here for all of you who are looking to learn more on the subject and get your outreach's best foot forward on the mobile web (presentations are not listed in any particular order):
